Bloomington Township Trustee "Rosie's Place": 2111 W. Vernal Pike 336-4976. Families must
have been residents within the Blgtn Township boundaries of: going
north of 3rd st., going east to Kerr rd, and going west to Highway
37. Includes the schools of Arlington, Fairview, Marlin, University,
TNMS, and BHSN. Families receive up to 5 days of emergency
shelter. click

For Families (Children Welcome) Salvation
Army 111 N. Rogers Street 336-4310. Families are
offered transitional housing opportunities when they meet criteria for
future stability. This service is very limited and families are
assessed on a case-by-case basis. Other service offered: Temporary
financial assistance for local motel lodging, (2-3 days max) on a
case-by-case basis. This opportunity can sometimes be extended when
other agencies or churches offer to pay for temporary
lodging. click

are allowed to stay for up to 30 days and can be extended if
needed by the shelter advocate. Ruthie's Place prefers Lawrence county
families but will consider out of county homeless families on an
emergency basis. click

Families are allowed to stay for up to 30 days and this can be extended
if needed by the shelter advocate. Wellspring Shelter prefers
Morgan county families but will consider out of county homeless
families on an emergency basis. click

Children: Monroe
County Office of Families & Children (Welfare Office) 401 E. Miller Drive. CPS Hotline:
336-6641. Families with
children can apply for, through Child Protective Services, the "Family
Unification Program." If qualified they can be bumped to the top
of the
Section 8 waiting list and hopefully receive housing within a few
days or weeks. In life-threatening emergencies, such as severely cold
weather, the children could be temporarily placed in foster care until
housing is provided for. click
