Church office hours: Monday through Saturday 8:30 am to 4:00pm.
Client pays $25.00 for a variety-food box worth more than
$25.00. Client gives name and phone number and is contacted by
phone to pick up food at a later date. Food distribution is once a
month at the church after paying in advance. Food box includes
food staples, unprepared meal packages, and frozen meals.
Monroe County United Ministries

When direct assistance
is necessary, United Ministries works to coordinate the efforts of
other agencies, churches and private donors. Food, clothing and limited financial
aid are typical direct assistance needs met by this program.
Mother Hubbard's Cupboard

Pantry Hours: Mon: 4pm-6pm,
Tue: 4pm-6pm, Wed: 10am to noon, Thu: 4pm-6pm, Fri: 4pm-6pm.
A volunteer-run food pantry, The pantry is open to anyone in
need of food, although outreach efforts are focused on pregnant and
nursing women, children and the ill.
Salvation

Hours: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (closed for lunch from 12-1:00 p.m.).
Direct assistance including food,
clothing, and shelter on an emergency basis. Sponsors a special
assistance at Christmas for food and toys to underprivileged families.
Shalom
Community Center
219 E. 4th Street, (334-5728).
A continental breakfast is
served daily from 8am until approximately 9:30am Monday through
Friday. Breakfast usually consists of donuts, bagels, toast,
cereal, coffee, juice, and milk. Hot breakfasts of
pancakes, eggs, and bacon or sausage are served on occasion, one to two
times per month based on volunteers and donations.
Free groceries are distributed
every Wednesday from 3:30-5:30. Food is brought from Hoosier
Hills Food Bank and guests have choices of food products. No
income requirements or proof needed, just sign up for food.
Lunch is served from 12:00pm
to approximately 1:30pm Monday through Friday. It is prepared and
served entirely by volunteers. Most food comes from the Hoosier
Hills Food Bank, and we serve a balanced, nutritional lunch daily,
usually consisting of salad or soup, entries of fruit and vegetables,
dessert, and drink. Some sample lunches are spaghetti, salmon
cakes, turkey and noodles, chicken tenders, pizza, rice and beans, and
ham patties.
