Startling statistics reveal suicide is the third leading cause of death for 10- to 24-year olds and results in approximately 4,600 lives lost every year. In Indiana, suicide has been the second-leading cause of death for young Hoosiers between the ages of 15-24 since 2009. Nearly one in five Hoosier high school students seriously considered attempting suicide in the last 12 months. This interview looks at why young people are taking their own lives, the warning signs adults must know and what may be standing in the way of some of these teens getting the help they need.
