Providing Opportunities for Excellence

The Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools, founded in 1973, is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization whose goal is to enhance the curriculum of the MCCSC by funding creative educational projects.  The Foundation's primary responsibility is to raise money from individuals, corporations, businesses and philanthropic organizations and distribute these funds to teachers for enriching educational projects that could not happen otherwise.  

The work of the Foundation is administered by an 18-member Board of Directors, all members of the community and all volunteers.  The Foundation retains a part-time executive director to administer and coordinate its activities.  

Objectives

  • to enrich and enhance the curriculum of the MCCSC
  • to recognize and reward student achievement
  • to provide for private sector financial support of the MCCSC

Mission Statement

The Foundation of MCCS is dedicated to soliciting and managing funds to enhance the education of students in the Monroe County Community School Corporation.
