Vision for Technology Integration
Vision for Learning
June 2001

Point 1

Major Learning Focus
Using a school-wide technological project focusing on the Unionville outdoor
lab, the students will learn and demonstrate mastery of Indiana Standards.

21st Century Skills
The skills addressed in this learning focus include:
  1. basic, scientific and technology literacy,
  2. curiosity,
  3. higher order thinking and sound reasoning,
  4. teaming, collaborative and interpersonal skills,
  5. personal and social responsibility,
  6. planning and managing for results,
  7. effective use of real-world tools, and
  8. relevant, high quality products.

The mastery of these skills will be measured by ISTEP+ scores and
movement toward Unionville PBA goals.

Vision for Changing Teaching
Our vision is for Unionville teachers to utilize current technology so that
students will develop a knowledge base incorporating Indiana Standards.
Further, teachers will provide opportunities for students to demonstrate
mastery of the Standards through the application of those skills in
technological projects.

Team Activities to Lead and Promote Change
The team will identify an area of educational focus (Outdoor Lab) and
develop a sample PowerPoint presentation to motivate and demonstrate end
product for students. 6th and 2nd grade students will then collaborate to
develop their own PowerPoint presentations regarding the Outdoor Lab.
Finally the student products will be used as an inservice training module for
Unionville teaching staff.

You have to have that kind of courage.
