Management and Implementation Strategies
for Technology Integration

Primary

1. Determine accessibility
	· Number of computers available (31 in lab, 1-4 in classroom)
	· Number of access hours available per day and/or week
(1/2 hour twice a week in lab)

2. Determine access style
	· Individual (This project will be individual.)
	· Small group (2-3)

3. Determine topic and outcomes
	· Information learning
	· Process skills (Writing process)
	· Research (Students will use books/internet to research their
	    topic.)
	· Communication
	· Oral presentation (Student will present Power Point to the
	    class.)
	· Written report (Student will present a draft on their
	    presentation.)

4. Determine software to be used
	· One interface (Power Point)
	· Multiple interfaces

5. Take steps 1 through 4 and write a project plan with the following
   components
	· Project name (Teaching with Technology)
	· Grade level (Primary/Intermediate)
	· Curricular areas (Science, social studies)
	· Goals and objectives (Demonstrate interactive communication
	  through presentations, Word, and PowerPoint)
	· Project instruction
	· Introduction (Students will view a demonstration
	  slide show on Curious George.)
	· Task (Students will create their own slide show on a given topic
	  at their grade level.)
	· Activities (Research, create slide show, insert graphics)
	· Process (Use of computer lab time to create a presentation with
	  teacher/student assistance)
	· Resources (Computer lab, computer in classroom, books,
	  internet, trained student facilitator, teacher)
	· Evaluation (rubric)
	· Conclusion (Student will present their slide show to the class.
In classes where topics vary, students will be able to
	  demonstrate knowledge of other presentations.)
	· Suggested procedures for smooth operation (Train student
facilitators and teachers prior to project start)
	· Standards (Will vary by grade level)
	· Project extensions (Students can present
	  to parents and other classes.)

You have to have that kind of courage.
