Comments and Suggestions

  Please send in the November calendar with your initials on each day your child read.  This is part of their independent reading grade on the report card.  Enclosed in this packet is the new calendar for the month of December.  If you have misplaced your calendar and your child has read each evening, just send me a short note.  Book orders are due Wednesday, Dec. 10. 

Reading:

Students will be working on an in-class book report over one of their IDR books that they have read.  They will be making a diorama.               

Spelling:

Spelling pre-test will be on Thursday and the post-test will be on Friday.  Don’t forget to put the spelling list on the refrigerator and every time they get into the refrigerator they must spell a word. 

Language:

Students will work with common errors in subject-verb agreements and irregular verbs.  Students will also work with contractions with not.

Math:

Students will continue working with multiplying a 3-digit number to a one-digit number.  Students will also be reading, comparing, rounding, and reporting large numbers. 

Science:

Students will have a test over Life Structures on Thursday.  We will switch to Social Studies on Monday.
