AEROBICS
SYLLABUS
CLASS: Be prompt.
All physical education students need to be in the lower hall before the
tardy bell. Students that are tardy will
be assigned an after-school detention.
Students will have 5 minutes to dress and report to their class. Students abusing the five-minute dress time
will be assigned an after-school detention.
Students will have 5 minutes to clean up. Students are expected to wait in the lower hallway by the weight room until the dismissal
bell rings. (Stay off the stairs)
Students leaving early are truant and are subject to after-school
detention or an office referral. Vending
machines are off limits until dismissal.
DRESS: Students are expected to dress for activity
every day. Appropriate clothing
including a full length sleeved T-shirt,
appropriate shorts and athletic shoes, should be worn. Students may wish to wear sweat shirts &
sweat pants instead of shorts and T-shirts.
Bloomington North does not issue a uniform for physical education. No apparel should draw undue attention from other students or faculty members. No undergarments should be visible. Failure to comply with the dress policy will
result in loss of participation points.
Vulgar expressions, alcohol, tobacco, or sexual references on garments are
not accepted. Students reporting to
class with unacceptable dress are subject to the unexcused dress policy.
LOCKERS: Each student will be assigned a physical education
locker. Athletic lockers are not to
be used for physical education. This
locker is your security for all valued belongings. Students may add an additional lock for
security. For security purposes book
bags and athletic bags will not be allowed in the locker room area. The
physical education department is not
responsible for any lost or stolen items.
PARTICIPATION: Students are expected to dress and
participate every day in physical education activity. Athletes
should participate in physical education activity on the day of a contest. Athletes should be role models for physical
education. Students missing participation for more than one day per unit
should see their instructor for make-up upon return. Credit for absences may be earned by doing 30 minutes of approved physical
activity for each day missed. Students should summit a summary of the 30-minute
workout, signed by a parent or guardian, and a day phone number for the parent
for each day made up. Students will lose participation points for any days not made up.
