| For the week of Jan 8 - Jan 12 | Scheduling week for Freshmen - open house for parents of current freshmen on Jan 11- 6:30 - 8:00 Begin chapter 10 - Volcanoes We will not spend a great deal of time in this chapter - notes the first week, some classroom activities, and the viewing of Dante's Peak Students will be required to type a 2-3 page paper paralleling the movie to the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980. I will sufficiently prepare them for this and provide background material for Mt. St. Helens. This paper is extremely important as it will take the place of the volcanoes chapter test. If a student does not complete the paper, they will earn a 0% test grade.

| For the week of Jan 15- Jan 19 | We are completing the movie Dante's Peak, students are expected to have taken adequate notes. The due date for Maroon classes is Thursday, January 26th and for Gold classes it is Friday, January 27. Students have also been given worksheet 10-1, which is due on Fri. or Mon. depending on when I have them |
