Your
home address in Bloomington/Monroe County will determine
which school your student attends. Normally, students
attend the school in the neighborhood where they live.
(See School maps.) If your child needs English language
instruction, please check ESL/ENL
Program at each school. Currently, 7/14 elementary
schools, 3 middle schools and 2 high schools offer
ESL/ENL instruction. Templeton Elementary
School is assigned as

from neighborhood schools where English language instruction
is not yet available. Transportation to magnet schools
will be provided free of charge.
3.
English Language Proficiency Test
According
to U.S. education law, new students who speak other than English must take a

Parents will be notified in writing of the test results
and our recommendations for placement.
English Language Proficiency Level is determined by
Indiana state standards in 5 levels using state-approved
tests. There are four levels of language learning
and level 5 is fluency.
