EIGHTH GRADE

United States History up to 1877

SEVENTH GRADE ALPS

Regional study of Asia, Africa, and Oceania

Topical study of Asia, Africa, and Oceania


 

The eighth grade curriculum includes a brief study of U.S. geography and Native American groups, a longer review of European exploration and colonization, and an emphasis on the American Revolution, development of our government, growth and expansion, and the Civil War.

The seventh grade ALPS curriculum includes units on the following topics:   religion and ethics, imperialism and nationalism, government and rights, environment and population, economy and development,  (and conflict and peace if there is time at the end of the year), especially as they apply to Asia, Africa, and Oceania.

The seventh grade regular curriculum includesa review of geography skills and concepts, a general introduction to various types of government, economy, and culture, and individual units on Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
